A dot-matrix that refuses to sit still. Eleven dots by five, four live axes, and a chaos slider that pulls the grid out of register on purpose — because the interesting part of a monospace was never the monospace.

Backstory
Where it came from

A misprint, basically

The chaos axis started as a printing fault on a cereal box — the dot grid had slipped half a cell and re-registered a line later, and the result was better than the version that worked. CHAO 0–100 is an attempt to make that failure repeatable.

Monospace, unlearned

Terminal faces are drawn to disappear. This one is drawn on the same fixed cell and then asked to be loud in it: heavy, condensed, slanted, falling apart. Same rhythm, different intent.

Everything is the grid

There are no curves to speak of. Every stroke, joint and terminal resolves to a dot on the 11 × 5 matrix, which is what keeps the face coherent when four axes are moving at once.

Fair warnings

Chaos past 70 gets feral

Descenders start visiting the line below. This is not a bug that got left in — it is the axis doing what it says — but set your leading accordingly.

Width is a short trip

75 to 100 and no further. The dot cell stops reading as a cell much past that, so the axis ends where the idea does.

Slant stops at −9.87°

An odd number because it is the angle at which the matrix still lines up. Rounding it to 10 broke the registration, so it stayed.

It is an experiment

Free to use, rough in places, and still moving. If something looks wrong at a size you need, it probably is — tell me and it gets redrawn.
